Bird stamps from Dubai.

The Emirate of Dubai is one of seven emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the second largest emirate by area.

Dubai is the capital city of the emirate, after which it is named.
Ruler of the emirate is HRH Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the emirate is governed by the Government of Dubai.

Two crucial events in the early 1970s spurred the economic deelopment of the emirate.

One was reaching independence and the establishment of the federation in 1971. The other was the oil crisis in 1973, which saw a large rise in oil revenues and helped the state finances.

The emirate has continuously contributed to the GDP of the United Arab Emirates. The economy has since tried to move away from the traditional oil-based commodities to branch out into services such as transport and logistics. Dubai's tourism contributes a large part of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates.

They contribute to the Dominican Republic's development as they send billions of dollars to their families in remittances. The Dominican Republic is the most visited destination in the Caribbean. The year-round golf courses are among the top attractions on the island.A geographically diverse nation, the Dominican Republic is home to the region's tallest mountain peak, Pico Duarte, as well as the Caribbean's largest lake and lowest elevation, Lake Enriquillo.

The island has an average temperature of 26 °C (78.8 °F) and great climatic and biological diversity. The country is also the site of the first cathedral, castle, monastery, and fortress built in all of the Americas, located in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone, an area declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.Music and sport are of great importance in the Dominican culture, with Merengue and Bachata as the national dance and music, and baseball as the favorite sport.

Dominican Republic is home to an impressive number of species of birds that vary from residents, that stay all year around, to breeding birds, that spend a good part of the growing season in Dominican Republic to raise their young, migrants who pass through Dominican Republic with the seasons, to wintering birds who like to spend a good part of the winter in Dominican Republic to escape colder conditions up north.

While many species of birds are relatively common as they are part of the ecosystems of the state, it is always a thrill to stumble upon a rare bird or vagrant, that does not really form part of any the Dominican Republic ecosystems. Maybe it got lost during its travels between its summer and winter residence or it got displaced by bad weather.
