The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency. It consists of a main island and some islets located in the Irish Sea, between the islands of Ireland and Great Britain.
It is one of the Celtic nations and the homeland of the Manx people, a Celtic ethnic group. The sovereign is the British monarch (currently Charles III), as Lord of Man, who is represented by the Governor-General.
Like the other dependencies, it is not part of the United Kingdom. Its international representation and defense are the responsibilities of the Government of the United Kingdom, although the island still has a separate international identity.

The national holiday is the 5th day, the day of the Tynwald (in Mannese Tinvaal).
The famous Tourist Trophy, also known as the TT, takes place annually on the island. A dangerous race due to the challenging course, but extremely captivating, it is considered one of the most anticipated and evocative motorcycling events.
The event, held on the extremely challenging Mountain Circuit, attracts tens of thousands of people from around the world and captures the attention of the entire island, representing the most important tourist and media event of the year.
