The stamp is part of the 'My Aland' series, a series of Aland stamps giving well-known personalities with a relation to Aland the possibility to express their personal view of Aland. Some of thè previous artists in this series have been Lili Lindfors, Mauno Koivisto and Marcus GrĂ²nholm.

As an artist for the 'My Aland' stamp, Martti Ahtisaari now has a chance to express his personal impression of Aland. Martti Ahtisaari has chosen to focus on his visit to Aland for his honeymoon in 1968.

The day of issue will be 29 September 2009.
